Dolly Parton is one of the best country singers, and she is the best musician we ever had in the old times. Apart from singing, she is also known for her creativity and philanthropy.

On Tuesday, the 74 years old singer appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. She sang one of her old songs from her time, which made Stephen Colbert cry. He said that sometimes one needs to let it all out. She also shared beautiful memories with her mother, who used to sing a capella when she was a kid.

Then, she sang one of her songs, Bury Me Beneath the Willow, which is about a woman who dies after her fiancé leaver her at the wedding altar. While she was singing her heart out, Colbert was shown whispering to one of his crew members, marveling at the goosebumps that appeared on his arms when Parton was singing.

Parton continued to sing, which left Colbert all teary, and he took a tissue to wipe his eyes. She joked that she should hush before he cries himself to death, and they cannot complete the show. Colbert laughed while dabbing the tissues in his eyes and replied that just like all the Americans, he is under a lot of stress.

He also told her that the song was beautiful, and she got under his tripwire. Dolly reassured him that when she was a kid, they used to cry when their mum would sing that song. She feels like those old songs very pretty amazing. We completely agree with her. Old songs bring out certain emotions and nostalgia in a listener, doesn’t it?

Colbert said that sometimes there is nothing better and happier than a cry. Parton joined him and replied that she feels that it cleanses the soul. As the water is good to wash everything out, tears have the same motive too. Then, the host pulled himself together, and he discussed many things with Parton, which included her husband Carl Dean, her songwriting, as well as her new album A Holly Dolly Christmas.
