Fan-favorite Diego Luna from Rogue One will be returning as dashing rebel hero Cassian Andor in Disney Plus’s 12 part series called Andor. From new additions in the cast to the expected release date, here we have shared everything we know so far about the forthcoming series.
Andor Arrival Date: When will the series release on Disney Plus?
Currently, the creators have not released any official launch date for the Cassian Andor series. But we are sure the dates will get revealed soon. Some sources reveal that the expected arrival date got announced on Disney’s recent investor day.
As per the speculations, the new Andor series might air in 2022. Aside from this, the filming began in November 2020, so the production of the series is in progress. So that means that the series will be available for the viewers to stream in the first half of 2022.
Last month, some sources confirmed that the upcoming series would contain 12 episodes, which will make it a bit longer than the fellow Disney Plus series like WandaVision that had nine episodes, and the Mandalorian, which consisted of eight episodes.
Recently, Diego Luna told a source that the format of Andor is amazing, and they have more time to explore all the layers of the series. She also added that they could reflect on what happens in Rogue One.
Andor cast: Who will return and be part of this Disney Plus series?
Diego Luna will return and play the lead character of Casadian Andor. He is a charismatic Rebel leader who played a central role in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Alan Tudyk will be returning as well as reprogrammed Imperial droid sidekick K-2SO. Along with him, fans will also see Genevieve O’Reilly, who played as Rebel leader Mon Mothma in Rogue One.
Denise Gough, Poldark’s Kyle Soller, as well as, Chernobyl’s Stellan Skarsgard have also joined Andor’s cast, but as of now, their characters are not revealed yet. And the most recent addition to the cast is BBC Two’s Good Omens’ Adria Arjona. In the past, she was also seen in Netflix action films 6 Underground and Triple Frontier. Arjona is all set to play the role of Cassian Andor’s sister in Andor.
The entire cast list of Andor is not revealed yet, though Rogue One stars Ben Daniels, Ian McElhinney, as well as, Alistair Petrie could be back as well. Depending on the format of the drama, there are high chances of the Rogue One actors Alistair Petrie, Ben Daniels, as well as Ian McElhinney to come back in the new series.
