Some argue that the terrifying terror comes from actual life. Of course, you can tell yourself that there are no monsters or beasts under your bed, but there are certainly poor creatures in this world from which you cannot escape.
No matter how hard you try to persuade yourself that everybody else out there is inherently nice, the fact is that some individuals are just agents of chaos.
They want to cause as much havoc as necessary, and the terrifying element of it all is that they feel they have the right to do so.
Having said that, “The Scary of Sixty-One” develops this concept to its most socially relevant climax.
The Scary of Sixty-One Release Story
Shudder purchased distribution rights to the film in May 2021, following its presentation at the Berlin Film Festival. That suggests it should be available on that platform soon, although no launch date has been announced as of this writing.
The hype, on the other hand, is out of this world, especially since Utopia’s head of content, Danielle DiGiacomo, said of the horror film, “Dasha Nekrasova’s first feature film is a remarkably visionary work that integrates a clear love of classic 70’s-style paranoia crime fiction, while courageously going to a place we have never seen before.” To put it simply, a release date cannot arrive soon quickly.
Furthermore, there are hardly any big names inside the ensemble of “The Scary of Sixty-First,” but there are several great reasons why you should come to know this incredibly skilled group.
The Scary of Sixty-One Characters Details
Madeline Quinn, who also co-wrote the script, and Betsey Brown portray the film’s two leads. Quinn is not the only one who works two jobs.
Dasha Nekrasova, the filmmaker, also appeared at the front of the screen in the character of “The Girl.” Stephen Gurewitz, Mark Rapaport, Anna Khachiyan, Jason Grisell, Aaron Dalla Villa round out the cast.
The trailer for “The Scary of Sixty-One” should offer you a fair sense of what to expect when you eventually sit down to see the film. Unfortunately, it seems like a mix of “Eyes Wide Shut,” “Rosemary’s Baby,” and contemporary paranoia.
The Scary of Sixty-One Plot
The narrative revolves around two housemates whose lives are turned upside down after discovering a horrific secret in their condo complex, per the film’s listing here on the Berlin Film Festival webpage. They learn notorious financier Jeffrey Epstein formerly owned it and that one of the ladies is soon overtaken by the ghost of one of his captives.
With that, we hope as soon as it is released, it will be on the watchlist of many. What are your thoughts, let us know and keep reading more updates from the world of entertainment.
