Virgin River Season 4 Release Date, Cast, and Plot Details

Our best estimation is that it will be July 2022. This is the reason: Unfortunately for Virgin River enthusiasts, there won’t be a seven-month hiatus between seasons three and four. If What’s On Netflix is to be believed—and it’s worth noting that What’s On Netflix was correct about the timing of season three, as well as frequently reporting renewals and cancellations accurately before they’re announced—season four will begin filming at the end of July 2021, with filming scheduled to wrap up at the end of November.

Radio Times’s Tim Matheson, who plays Doc Mullin, confirmed to the publication in July that the cast would be returning to work shortly. Virgin River will begin production in mid-August, according to What’s on Netflix. There will be filming in August 2021, thanks to a Watershed Grill Instagram post. Jack’s Bar was filmed at Watershed Grill.

Assuming everything goes according to plan, the show should be finished filming by the end of the year. Afterwards, it will take a few months to edit and post-process.

So, a July 2022 release date for season four seems sense: Hopefully, Virgin River’s creators will have enough time to put together a fourth season following the release of season three. Netflix loves to release new seasons at the same time as previous ones when possible.

What’s on Netflix confirms: “We’re currently projecting that Virgin River season 4 will return in 2022, most likely in Q2-Q3 of 2022.”

This season concluded on cliffhangers for many of the main characters, including Preacher (who was poisoned by a former friend of Paige’s as part of a conspiracy against Christopher), Mel and Jack, and many other minor characters as well, in which Mel reveals that she is pregnant — but no one knows if the father is Jack or her late ex-husband, Mark. In addition, Ricky’s enlistment prompted Lizzie to break up with him and return to her slimy LA ex-boyfriend; Brady was arrested as a suspect in the shooting of Jack; Charmaine and Todd threatened Jack with an explosive custody battle over the twins; Hope is in the hospital after suffering a brain injury in a car accident.

Four seasons of new storylines are on the way, but the third season set up many storylines that will continue in season four. Ricky will undoubtedly decide whether or not to enlist, and he may choose to leave Virgin River—and Lizzie—behind. When it comes to her pregnancy, Mel and Jack will have to deal with the unknowns and determine if they can make it work. Following her absence for the whole third season, we’re sure to see Paige again. Todd and Jack, the twins’ biological father, will have a fight when Charmaine gives birth to the twins. Finally, we’ll find out who shot Jack.

From the very beginning, Tenney told TV Insider, season four would be a roller coaster. But, as she explained, “there’s a significant surprise in Season 4 that puts certain characters in peril.”
