Non-profit organization located in Rajasthan “”Together We Fight Society” has filed an App Store appeal challenging Apple’s in-app payment limits. The group claims that Apple is exploiting its position in the app industry by compelling developers to utilize its in-app payment system and charging a fee of up to 30% on each transaction. Furthermore, the South Korean National Assembly recently passed legislation prohibiting Apple and Google from forcing app developers to utilize their in-app payment systems.

MediaTek outperforma Qualcomm

MediaTek maintained its global application processor market lead in the second quarter of 2021. The Taiwanese hardware company outperformed Qualcomm to maintain its 38 percent market share. MediaTek began the first quarter of 2020 in second place, trailing Qualcomm by 7%, with a 24 percent market share, compared to the US chipmaker’s 31 percent market share. It closed the gap in Q2 2020, with a 25% share compared to Qualcomm’s 28%. The company then took the lead in the third quarter of 2020, with a 31 percent share compared to Qualcomm’s 29 percent. It has subsequently maintained its dominance, with market shares of 32%, 35%, and now 38% in the ensuing quarters. In the second quarter of 2021, Qualcomm has a market share of 32%.
