About the Movie Plot

Sultan Ali Khan is a middle-aged wrestler and former Wrestler in Haryana’s small-town; Jat Pehlwani lives a solitary life. Aakash Oberoi is encouraged by his dad, the founder of Mr Patel’s private mixed martial art league, to hire Sultan to rescue their popularity. He offers Sultan after visiting Haryana, who refuses to stand up and says he is withdrawn from wrestling. Aakash confronts Sultan’s close friend Govind in search of the reasons behind his retirement. He tells us how Sultan’s career started. In 2008, Aarfa Hussain, a state wrestler with his daughter, a local wrestling coach, was in love with Sultan.

Even if she’s cold to him at first, Sultan embraces him as a friend. She insults him, saying that she will merely marry one professional Wrestler while he says they are engaged. Sultan is committed to gaining her esteem and eventually wins the state-owned competition and the Aarfa tournament. Both marry and become well-known athletes who represent India at various international games. Aarfa finds that she is pregnant as the two are chosen for the Olympic contingent. She sacrificed her childhood dream of winning the Indian Olympic Gold Medal, and then Sultan achieved it.

Sultan’s performance makes him arrogant, and a reporter knocks him at an event to her surprise. It also leaves Aarfa close to winning gold in Turkey. Upon his return, he found himself dead because of the severe anaemia of his infant son. The baby was of the same rare O- blood form as Sultan, whose absence took the donor’s child away. Angry, Aarfa decides to go and live with her dad, Sultan. Sultan’s depressed loss of his wife and child raises funds to set up his son’s blood bank. Aakash promises today to the Sultan that the tournament prize money will fulfil his dream of opening a blood bank.

Sultan agrees to train in Delhi, where Aakash introduces him to Fateh Singh, the trainer at MMA, who first refused him but, after his determination, agreed. Sultan recovers his physics and learns how to wrestle freestyle after two months’ preparation. Sultan beats his rival in his first battle with his legendary wrestling. He quickly gains a national feeling by winning several matches and winning Aarfa’s support. The Sultan wins the fight during a semi-final round but has to be hospitalised and seriously injured.

The physician tells Aakash not to fight again until his injuries are fatal. Aarfa comes to the ward and helps him to fight harder. Sultan defeats his opponent in the final match and eventually wins the tournament, surmounting his suffering. Gathered together with his wife, Sultan opens a blood bank using the prize money. A few years later, Sultan started training a baby girl as a wrestler.
