Strictly Come Dancing’s Aljaz signs on to play Matilda in the upcoming film adaptation

Strictly Come Dancing has featured Aljaz since 2013. Together with celebrity partner Abbey Clancy, he won season 11. Married to fellow professional Janette Manrara, who will host the spin-off It Takes Two this year, Aljaz has made a shift in the series. Matilda, Netflix’s latest version of Roald Dahl’s classic, has reportedly cast Aljaz.

She will appear in the remake together with Emma Thompson and Andrea Riseborough. A 62-year-old actress, Emma will portray Miss Trunchbull, the evil schoolteacher. a source informed The Sun on Sunday that Aljaz was “thrilled” to have been cast and couldn’t wait to get started on the set. Many months of intense work await him.”

Even with Covid’s delays, there won’t be any conflicts with his Strictly schedule, according to the insiders. By 2022, Netflix expects to be able to broadcast the updated adaptation. COVID-19 was found in a member of the production team, which forced a delay in filming.

As Aljaz is had to leave their house to compete in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, Janette has spoken out about having to temporarily split from him. This year, contestants and choreographers will once again be required to construct an isolation “bubble” to avoid infection during the ongoing epidemic, after the effective approach used in 2020. Sadly, Aljaz must now separate himself from Janette, 37. On BBC’s Morning Live last month, the Cuban-American dancer talked about it with Gethin Jones.

She said that they will do professional group numbers for four weeks. Zoe Ball’s departure from It Takes Two after a decade on the show will be difficult for Janette. This is a dream come true for me to be a part of the It Takes Two crew, but I’m thrilled to be a part of the Strictly Come Dancing family!
