Sexual assault charge dropped against rapper Mystikal

The court has dropped the charges on him regarding the sexual assaults Michael Lawrence Taylor, best known by his stage name Mystikal, committed two years after he was released (On February, 2019) from the prison in a $3 million dollar bond.

“Additional evidence and information were discovered and the case was resubmitted to this second Grand Jury in the interest of justice,” the statement said. The rapper had been indicted in 2017 but on Thursday, a second Caddo Parish grand jury returned a no true bill clearing Mystikal.

What was the rapper charged for?

Mystical was surrendered to the police in 2017 after he was charged of rape and kidnapping. The incident seemed to have happened at a Shreveport Casino in October 2016.

His history with such sexual assaults

This was not the first time the rapper was involved in such crimes. In 2003, he was accused of forcing his stylist into performining sexual acts with him and two of his bodygaurds. He was released from a Louisiana prison in 2010 after serving six years for sexual battery and extortion.

His 2000 album “Let’s get ready” went multi-platinum and some of its songs made it to Billboard Hot 100.

Let us hope that this 50 year old rapper doesn’t commit such crimes anymore.
