On 15 December 2020, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs shared a black and white montage of him and his late friend Kim Porter on his IGTV honouring what would have been her 50th birthday. With Michael Jackson’s “The Lady in my Life” playing in the background, the video made every fan shed a tear. You can find the video here-
The video was captioned “HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIM! LOVE YOU FOREVER!!”
Diddy and Kim started their relationship back in the 90s and after a brief break in the early 2000s, the pair officially ended their relationship in 2007. Though they were not romantically involved, they continued to be friends.
In the wake of Porter’s death, a source told PEOPLE at the time: “Diddy is devastated and shocked. He and Kim were still very close friends and co-parents even though their romantic relationship didn’t work. They were still a family.”
The pair co-parented all their children (Quincy Brown, King Combs, Jessie James Combs, D’Lila Star Combs) until Kim’s death. After that, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs took custody of all of them single handedly though Quicy Brown was not his biological son.
Kim Porter died of Labor Pneumonia when she was only 47 years old on 15 November, 2018. Her death came as a shock to many and after further investigations it was confirmed that her cause of death was completely natural.
Let us hope that her soul rests in peace.
