No Game No Life – Synopsis

Sora and his younger stepsister Shiro, two hikikomori who make up the identity of Blank, an unbeatable gang of gamers, are the focus of the narrative. They are challenged to chess by the god of games one day, and they win.

As a response, the god calls them to Disboard, a realm where theft, violence, and murder are prohibited, and everything, including country boundaries and people’s lives, is determined through games. Sora and Shiro aim to conquer the sixteen governing species and seize the god of games to keep their image as unbeatable players.

The series gained acclaim in 2014 when it was included in Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! and one of its volumes was named one of Japan’s top thirty best-selling novels. In May 2017, it was claimed that there were over 3 million printed copies in circulation. The manga adaptation was well-received in English, with the manga adaptation appearing on The New York Times Manga Best Sellers; however, English reviewers were generally turned off by the first episode of the anime, though reviewers who had finished the series praised the character dynamics, game strategies, and animation while disliking the fan service featuring underage Shiro

The anime No Game No Life premiered in 2014 and concluded with a huge cliffhanger. Of course, the show’s admirers begged for a second season. And it’s been six years since they’ve seen a new season. Is there going to be a second season of No Game No Life? Here is everything we know.

When Is No Game No Life Season 2 Coming Out?

Season 1 of No Game No Life premiered on April 9, 2014, and ended on June 25, 2014, after a total of 12 episodes had been shown. The anime received excellent reviews from both viewers and academics shortly after its release, and it became an instant hit.

Because it was commercially successful, many fans assumed it would be followed by a spin-off. So, to appease the show’s fans, Madhouse company released a prequel film titled “No Game No Life: Zero,” which premiered on July 15, 2017.

In any event, we haven’t heard anything regarding the anime’s continuance since the release of the film. However, our best estimate is that No Game No Life Season 2 will arrive in 2022.

No Game No Life Season 2 – Controversy

There are probably a few reasons why Season 2 No Game No Life has yet to be released – and may never be released. Specifically, there is a controversy surrounding the first light book series and its writer, since Kamiya was accused of plagiarism in 2014, just before the anime’s first season was released.

Several producers have alleged that Kamiya supervised their work for his characters, essentially stealing their ideas. According to the Storify News-Times, “Kamiya apologized to the experts and shockingly compensated them for the work he used,” and that the controversy harmed the preparations for No Game No Life season 2.

Furthermore, plagiarism charges were leveled against the TV show. According to SG Cafe, a Japanese artist claimed that a plot in episode 7 of the series copied his original work, and the show’s creators admitted it. Several organizations believe that as a result of these disagreements, Madhouse opted to leave the series and pursue other projects.

No Game No Life Season 2 – Expected Cast Members

There is no authority data on the likely cast because No Game No Life Season 2 has not been reported. The first voice entertainers from Season 1 would return for Season 2 to reprise their roles. This includes the main characters’ voices, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Ai Kayano, as well as their English name partners, Scott Gibbs and Caitlynn French. However, it is also possible that this will not be the case.

Given the challenge, the character of any possible new cast would be just as astonishing a secret as anything else at that time. Much like the delivery date, the entire situation hinges on Madhouse’s decision to bring back the beloved series at any time in the future. To that point, fans can only cross their fingers and hope that their favorite artists will keep them updated if Season 2 ever arrives.

No Game No Life Creator

No Game No Life’s creator is Yuu Kamiya. Furukawa, Thiago Lucas (born 10 November 1984) is a Brazilian-Japanese author, artist, and virtual YouTuber who goes by the pen name Yuu Kamiya (, Kamiya Y). He collaborated on the light novel adaptation of A Dark Rabbit Has Seven Lives by Takaya Kagami. In 2013, he began writing and drawing his light novel series, No Game No Life, which was turned into anime and was named one of the top-selling light novels in 2014, as well as one of ten light novel series to earn a Yomiuri Shimbun Sugoi Japan Award.

Clockwork Planet, his newer light novel and manga story, was greenlit for an anime adaptation in 2015. Mashiro Hiiragi, who would work on the manga version of No Game No Life, married him in 2011.

Why Was No Game No Life Cancelled?

There haven’t been any formal announcements that the anime has ended as far as we know. Even though the events in the movie No Game No Life: Zero take place a significant time after the end of the anime, it’s probably a very low possibility that a second season will be released after all this time. (By events, We mean the telling of the Great War’s tale.)

We believe it would be difficult for them to make a second season work, because if the movie were merely episodes, it would most likely cover the final four episodes of the second season, according to the sequence in which events occur in the novel. However, many speculations say that No Game No Life Season 2 will be happening.
