Fear Street has been revived a few times and is definitely one of R.L Stine’s most popular book series. R.L Stine has written over a hundred books in the Fear Street series and now everyone’s favorite horror series is all set to head towards Netflix in the form of a series of movies called Fear Street 1978, Fear Street 1994, and Fear Street 1666.
After the announcement made by Netflix about Fear Street’s release in 2021, the series is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated films and to tickle your curiosity, let’s have a look at some of R.L Stine’s Fear Street movies from the past.
Production on Fear Street 1666, Fear Street 1994, and Fear Street 1978 originally began in 2019 with the aim of releasing these in 2020 by Fox. However, the company making the movie, Peter Chernin of Chernin Entertainment had to shop the films elsewhere as Disney had acquired Fox by that time. The pandemic added fuel to the story and then Netflix made its grand entry into the picture.
Since Netflix already had shows with similar tones, there wasn’t much trouble they had to bear in adding the films to their schedule. The streaming giant was the perfect fit for the Fear Street films considering the fact that R.L Stine’s Goosebumps series was also being aired on Netflix.
