MINECRAFT EARTH WILL BE SCRAPPED

Microsoft’s biggest and best game the Minecraft kept all of us occupied during the very dull and boring 2020. It allowed us to travel the world when the real world was closed down. Microsoft then had taken things on to the next level by releasing Minecraft Earth. Now there are confirmed reports that the new game will be scrapped.

WHY THIS DECISION

Yes, we are as shocked as you are. Microsoft has taken this decision because the game requires players to roam around in the real world and build things, very much like Pokémon Go. Roaming around freely in this pandemic stricken world is not safe at all and so they decided to shut the game down. The announcement was made by the Minecraft Team. All the resources of the game will be redirected towards other projects they are working on. They concluded their statement by saying that the game will be shut down all over the world on 30th June, 2021.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR PLAYERS

Everyone who has the game installed on their devices will be able to play the game till 30th June, 2021. After that the game will just stop functioning and no one will be able to download the game from any source. The player data for the game will be deleted by Microsoft on 1st July, 2021. In the meantime, players can continue playing the game. A final build of the game is being released today. The build will allow players to build things in the game a lot quicker and make it indoor friendly.

What is your take on this decision? Do you think Microsoft should have waited for the situation to improve or was this the right decision to make? Comment your opinions in the comment box.
