Matthew Rhys to Star as Alien Spy in FX’s Comic Book Adaptation Wyrd

The Emmy Award winner, Matthew Rhys, was recently announced to be playing the role of the Wyrd in an upcoming FX drama.

In the official description of the movie, his character was described as “When his people don’t come back for him, he’s forced to assimilate, all while investigating paranormal activity and searching for a way home,” This seems like the typical plot for movies featuring antagonistic aliens. We hope that this movie is better than just the stereotype it is carrying.

The movie is supposed to be written by Sheldon Turner, who won an Oscar for the movie “Up in the Air” (You can watch the trailer of the movie here-

and Rhyds will be producing this movie.

The movie is an adaptation of the Dark Horse comic book series of the same name. In the description of the book in the official website it has been stated that this book will follow Pitor Wyrd, a person who solves cases that are too strange for US Law Enforcement to solve. (Yes, this bit reminds me of Sherlock Holmes too).

Matthew Rhys won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Soviet spy Philip Jennings alongside real-life wife Keri Russell on FX’s The Americans. You can watch the trailer of the show here-

We hope this news made your day!
