Kotak Mahindra Bank will purchase a 10% stake in KFin Technologies for Rs. 310 crores

Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited (KMBL) announced today in an exchange filing that it will invest in KFin Technologies. According to the company, by investing Rs 310 crore as a primary infusion, KMBL acquires a 9.9 percent stake in KFin. The transaction will be subject to the necessary regulatory approvals.

KFin Technologies is a platform for investors and issuers 

It offers a wide range of financial technology solutions across a wide range of asset classes, including mutual funds, alternatives, insurance, and pensions.

“We believe that KFin is well positioned to increase its market share as a preferred platform for asset managers, investors, and corporations. This investment is consistent with Kotak Mahindra Bank’s strategy of making minority investments in professionally managed enterprises with a large customer base “Kotak Mahindra Bank’s Joint Managing Director Dipak Gupta stated.

According to the Exchange filing, KFin serves 25 of the 44 Indian Mutual Fund AMCs, with AUMs in excess of USD 148 billion and a 35 percent AUM equity share. (This is up from 27% in March 2019.)
