Jennifer Garner’s Netflix movie Yes Day is getting a sequel for the franchise

Jennifer Garner is set to reprise her part in a multi-picture deal in a Netflix sequel to the family comedy Yes Day. Netflix is now working on a Yes Day sequel. “Yes Day” is a 24-hour period during which the kids establish all of the rules for their parents, who feel like they’re constantly saying “no.” Jennifer Garner and Édgar Ramrez feature in Yes Day as Allison and Carlos Torres, respectively.

Amy Krouse Rosenthal’s best-selling children’s story is the inspiration for this comedic picture. As of April 2021, it was estimated that 62 million households have viewed the film, despite it not necessarily being highly regarded by reviewers.

Following the success of Yes Day, Netflix has revealed that a sequel is in the works. Garner recently inked a multi-picture agreement with Netflix, under which she will feature in and produce new movies for the streaming service. Garner’s comment may be seen below.

This is something I can speak to from personal experience: Scott’s connections within the firm have endured for 15 years now. It’s not only that he’s smart or insightful, it’s also that he’s honest about it. As a brilliant storyteller, it is an honor for me to join the Netflix family, and I look forward to working with Netflix’s devoted and imaginative staff across all departmental lines. Reed, Ted, and Scott have established a safe atmosphere for storytellers to work together in collaboration. It was a gratifying and inspirational experience to make Yes Day a reality.

As I watched the Torres family create havoc in homes throughout the world, I became even more ready to delve into another Day of Yes. Thank you for your continuing support, and I look forward to experimenting with this collaboration in many ways.”

According to Scott Stuber, Netflix’s head of global film,

The Kingdom was the first project I ever worked on with Jen, and I consider myself incredibly lucky to still be working with her after 14 years. She’s been in fast-paced action flicks, emotional comedies, and thought-provoking dramas as a brilliant actress. As a consequence, she is an excellent producer and a valuable collaborator. After another Yes Day, we look forward to working with Jen on a lot of exciting initiatives in the future.”

Miguel Arteta directed Yes Day, which was based on a script by Justin Malen. Jenna Ortega, Julian Lerner, Megan Stott, June Diane Raphael and Nat Faxon also appeared in the comedy. Singer H.E.R. made an appearance in the film’s musical conclusion, and she sang numerous songs on the soundtrack.

Ramrez and the rest of the actors are not expected to return for the sequel, but it is obvious that Netflix believes there is more to the Torres family’s tale to tell. Perhaps the next film will revolve on another “Yes Day” that the parents offer their children, or it may have a whole different plot. The possibilities are endless! Soon as Yes Day 2 begins filming, fans will certainly learn more.
