James Cameron may or may not be directing the future films of Avatar

Some sources reveal that Canadian filmmaker James Cameron may not be there to direct the forthcoming movies of the Avatar franchise. In an interview with Empire, the director shared that the films are all-consuming. He also said that he has other movie projects in his mind. And those projects are still in the works which he is excited to share with the world.

Some sources reveal there will be fourth and fifth installments of this popular sci-fi franchise. However, the most celebrated filmmaker James Cameron is not going to be a part of both of these films. He also revealed that he wants to pass the baton to someone else.

The Canadian director further added that he is currently focusing on his future films and won’t be a part of the next installments of the Avatar franchise. As of now, Cameron is waiting for the second installment of Avatar: The Way and Water.

Here is what he has to say to the Avatar fans: “I think eventually over time — I don’t know if that’s after three or after four — I’ll want to pass the baton to a director that I trust to take over, so I can go do some other stuff that I’m also interested in. Or maybe not. I don’t know.”
