ITV has revealed that John Simm’s police drama Grace will return for a second season, with two new cast members joining the cast.

Cleo Morey will be played by Liar’s Zoe Tapper, with Broadchurch’s Arthur Darvill joining the cast as a guest actor. DS Glenn Branson and ACC Vosper will be played by Richie Campbell and Rakie Ayola, respectively, following the success of season 1. Russell Lewis, the show’s creator, will adapt Peter James’ award-winning books Not Dead Enough, Dead Man’s Footsteps, and Dead Tomorrow into three screenplays for Endeavour.

John’s Detective Superintendent Roy Grace, a dedicated police officer who has dedicated his life to the job but walks a career tightrope since he can conflict with his superior ACC Vosper, is the focus of the crime drama’s storyline.

In a statement to ITV, John revealed why he was returning for a second go: “Everyone connected with Grace is thrilled to be returning to Brighton to film Peter James’s next three novels. Russell Lewis has done an excellent job adapting them, and we can’t wait to see how they turn out.”

Season two will focus on Grace’s investigation into the finding of the skeletal remains of a lady in an ancient storm drain, thought to be the wife of a failed Brighton conman who perished in an aircraft crash some years before.

Grace Season 2 – When will it release?

In advance of the first season’s end, ITV revealed that Grace will get a second season. Season two’s premiere date has yet to be confirmed, although it is likely to debut in 2022.

There’s still no word on when the second season’s second episode will be released, so it’s too early to say when season two will debut. For now, in Brighton, the filming process has officially begun.

Grace Season 2 – Who will be appearing?

Season two’s roster will be heavily influenced by the events of season one, although the show’s core characters are very certain to return. Detective Superintendent Roy Grace is played by John Simm, and Detective Superintendent Glenn Branson is played by Richie Campbell.

Richie Campbell is well recognized for his work on Liar and the Frankenstein Chronicles, while John Simm is famed for his work on Life on Mars and Doctor Who. Because so much of the supporting cast is tied to the case Grace and Branson are working on, it’s quite probable that season two will have a whole new supporting cast.

Grace Season 2 – What to expect from the plotline?

Adapted from Peter James’ Not Dead Enough, Dead Man’s Footsteps, and Dead Tomorrow, the second season follows D.S. Roy Grace, he conducts an investigation into the discovery of the skeletal remains of a woman in an old storm drain believed to be the wife of a failed Brighton conman who died in a plane crash a few years earlier.

A woman’s skeleton bones are discovered in an ancient storm drain, thought to be the wife of a failed Brighton conman who perished some years before in an aircraft crash, according to the ITV description for Dead Man’s Footsteps. Grace must retrace the man’s actions in the years before his death, which takes him on a shady trail into the realm of Brighton’s oldest criminal families, but Roy isn’t only chasing ghosts on the professional front.
