Hugo goes on a recoupling rant on Love Island, resulting in intense scenes

Some viewers have said that Love Island 2021 has fallen flat, but that claim will not fly following last night’s dramatic recoupling (July 22). The Islanders were struck with another recoupling in yesterday’s show, just days after three fresh bombshells entered the villa.

It started off easy enough, but as the numbers dropped, things rapidly became tense around the firepit. Toby Aromolaran ditched his old partner Chloe Burrows for bombshell Abigail Rawlings after a rough day, opening the way for dirty appearances, furious muttering, and a remarkable statement from Hugo Hammond.

As another Love Islander is booted from the show, a dramatic recoupling takes place. Hughie, after Chloe and Georgia Townsend were eliminated from the competition, decided to defend Chloe with all his might. As he said this, he let out a sigh of relief. She is not only gorgeous but also very intelligent and entertaining, therefore I want to marry her.

A lot of this “look at” stuff is rubbish, if I’m being honest. Chloe is the lady I want to marry because she’s honest and talks to me.

An ex-Love Islander tells us why he or she was “up the creek” in the villa. Faye Winter and Kaz Kamwi were also displeased by Hugo’s assessment, calling it “f**king muggy”. Hugo’s campfire prowess may have caught the villa’s attention, but will it be forgotten by the time we tune in? We’ll just have to wait and see. Episodes of Love Island are available for ITV Hub subscribers on the day after they air on ITV2, and for BritBox subscribers on the day after that. No One But You Can Change Your Life is Laura Whitmore’s debut novel.
