How has COVID affected the appearance of the characters in Virgin River, bosses explain.

Season 3 of the Virgin River was disturbed uniquely by the COVID-19 pandemic. Here you will discover Annette O’Toole’s characterHope McCrea physically absent if you have already bought the latest batch of episodes from the Netflix series.

Showrunner Sue Tenney has explained this to the Entertainment Weekly. “This was an important point in the pandemic. We worked so hard to ensure that she still was in the programme very much,” she started. “Everyone is now immunized for a fourth season, and the pandemic is not what it was. So I hope we’ll have Annette back.”

Unfortunately, because O’Toole failed to get to the settlement during a profound pandemic, Virgin River was obliged to revise some 3rd seasonal stories, including the vow renewals ceremony of Hope and Doc Mullins.

Tenney explained that he buried this tender piece rather than having it play off-camera. “It was quite wonderful, two big shows about it.” There are two plot episodes. We definitely want to see that when we get to this phase, which’s a renewal ceremony. However, there is some turmoil with both these characters, which places them in the background, but also increases their attachment to each other.”

Seasons 1, 2 and 3 of the Virgin River can be found streaming on Netflix.
