Hogwarts Legacy, The long-rumored And Previously leaked Harry Potter RPG, Was Eventually Announced During Sony’s PlayStation 5 Event In September 2020

Sony finally confirmed the long-rumored and previously leaked Harry Potter RPG. Hogwarts Legacy, at the PlayStation 5 launch event in September 2020.

It’s the late 1800s, and students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry are preparing for the new game Hogwarts Legacy. It is set in the same world and time period as the books.

In addition to Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, a magical Pokemon Go game developed by Niantic is being released under the Warner Bros. PortkeyGames label. It was created by Avalanche Software, formerly of Disney Infinity fame (at least until it shuts down in late January).

Even after all these years, there is still a lot of mystery surrounding the game. This year, a video surfaced showing the player learning spells and exploring iconic wizarding locations. Although it’s unclear how much of that early prototype remains in the game we’re supposed to get when it launches in 2022.

According to some reports, players will be transferred to Hogwarts in their fifth year, two years before they are expected to graduate. According to rumors, gamers are customizing a character who appears to be in his or her first year at Hogwarts.

The surrounding area of Hogwarts is clearly shown as an important aspect of the game in the trailer. Students will be able to visit the school grounds (including the forbidden forest and Hogsmeade village).

The Mystery About Skull Faced Figures

One of the most intriguing mysteries so far is the appearance of skull-faced figures at the end of the video. Despite the fact that their motivations and origins are unknown, they appear to be the main threat to the player. The story takes place over a century before Voldemort and his death eaters rise. The player will face a new threat, further separating this game from the canon established by creator J.K. Rowling.

Furthermore, Rowling’s involvement has sparked speculation due to the ongoing controversy surrounding her. Also the fact that she has been chastised for making and supporting transphobic statements.

While many Harry Potter characters have spoken out about their support for transgender people. Some reports this year suggest that the game’s development team is following suit. By fighting to include transgender characters in the game.

Warner addressed the game’s author in an online FAQ at one point. Despite this, they stated that “J.K. Rowling’s extraordinary body of work serves as the foundation for all Wizarding World projects.”

There is no doubt that JK Rowling will profit from the game despite her absence from the creative process, but it will be interesting to see if her recent actions influence the fanbase’s desire to play it.

Although she continues to oversee all projects related to the Harry Potter IP, it will be interesting to see how the author’s recent behavior affects the fanbase’s appetite for the game, regardless of her creative involvement.

20th Anniversary Reunion Special

Rowling is not mentioned in the upcoming 20th-anniversary reunion special, which will air on HBO Max on January 1st, and Niantic’s game, which appeared to be another surefire success given Pokémon Go’s popularity, will be killed off next month, prompting some to wonder if the series’ spell is beginning to wear off and whether Rowling’s actions have accelerated this in any way.
