HBO and Warner Bros. Among Top In 2021 Clio Entertainment Award Winners

Prime Video celebrated its 50th anniversary by honoring the winners of Clio Entertainment’s international awards program, which recognizes innovation in the entertainment marketing sector, at Los Angeles’ Sunset Room Hollywood.

HBO was recognized as the year’s most successful television/streaming network, Warner Bros. was chosen the most successful studio, Microsoft Studios/Xbox was named the most successful game publisher, and BOND was named the most successful marketing agency at the hybrid indoor/outdoor event.

In 2021, Tom Kane, whose credits include the Star Wars trilogy, Avengers, Family Guy, Scooby-Doo, and Fortnite, received an Honorary Clio Award for his services to the business.

“When you had a recording session with Tom,” joked Scott Goldman of JAX, president of the boutique theatrical marketing agency, “you got Tom plus 300 of his other voices,”. Referring to the fact that, in addition to his own voice, he has voiced Morgan Freeman, Anthony Hopkins, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Yoda, C3-PO, and Admiral Akbar.

Amazon Studios executives in attendance included Jerome Core, senior industry and content lead of DEI for Amazon Studios, and Ukonwa Ojo, chief marketing officer of Prime Video and Amazon Studios, who unveiled the Emerging Creative Award, a new award that Clio Entertainment and Prime Video will introduce next year “for people who don’t currently have access to the entertainment marketing industry,” as Ojo put it.

It’s been 50 years since The Hollywood Reporter created the Clio Entertainment Awards as the Key Art Awards, before becoming a Clio property with THR as a media partner in 2015. This year’s winners were described by Falls as “some of the most enthusiastic, diligent, and awe-inspiring innovators in the profession.”
