A new beta version of Google Stadia launched yesterday ( December 17) for iPhone and iPad users. This beta version will allow users to relish the service over Safari.
Launching its beta version Google Stadia ultimately found its way to iOS and this journey took almost a year since from its launch. However, mobile web beta version was initially announced to launch last month by the company for both iPhone and iPad devices. But finally launched on December 17.
Who can Access? Not everyone can indeed access this. All Stadia user who has its paid Stadia Pro subscription or the free tier can easily access this beta version. They can enjoy the benefits of accessing Stadia games library on their Apple devices.
Like other competing cloud services, Google is similarly using mobile Safari because cloud gaming apps are restricted by Apple.
That eventually means cloud gaming platforms like Google Stadia cannot exist on the App Store in their current version. However, unlike the planned mobile web version Microsoft xCloud and Nvidia’s GeForce Now, Google Stadia on the other hand has a free tier that means no restrictions gaming.
Google Stadia now offers two free games named Destiny 2 and Super Bomberman R and along with this a message that says more games on the way. Which means any user with a Gmail account looking to try Google Stadia can access it on iPhone or iPad with minimal very minimal effort.
According to the report, all users on Stadia will be able to enjoy named titles like Valhalla, Assassin’s Creed and Cyberpunk 2077 well their iPhone and iPad. More in the report confirms that the working will go on for a weekly test before being said – “remarkably well.”
However, it’s true that iOS and the App Store’s restrictions by Apple is said to be the biggest trouble from for cloud gaming services like Google Stadia and Microsoft xCloud. As explained by Google, iOS Safari web browser can be used to access Google Stadia, and this isn’t an app that you can find and download.
If you wish to use this Stadia like an App then you can add it on your home screen.
