Girls Can’t Shoot (& Other Lies)’ Updates on Air Date, Casting, Plotline, Trailer

A new series based on Scarlett Curtis’ best-selling essay collection Feminists Don’t Wear Pink (And Other Lies), with an all-star cast and coordinated production team, will premiere this week. The film, Girls Can’t Shoot (& Other Lies), is still in its early stages, but the elements that have been given are enough to pique the interest of any TV lover. Girls Can’t Shoot (& Other Lies) contains every piece of information we’ve ever gleaned regarding the film.

What do we know about the plotline?

Though no details about the new program have been disclosed, it is expected to follow the style of Amazon’s Modern Love, with each episode addressing a different narrative (or essay, in this case). According to Deadline, the first season will concentrate on “the demands of women in narrative” by putting female characters at the centre of genres traditionally associated with men.

What we know about the casting members

Curtis will remain as executive producer for the duration of the series and will also write the premiere episode. The author has spent much of her career advocating for women’s rights, co-founding The Pink Protest in 2016 and hosting the Feminists Don’t Wear Pink podcast. Following the popularity of her debut essay collection, she co-curated the anthology It’s Not OK to Feel Blue & Other Lies in 2019, which included 74 articles about mental health.

Saoirse Ronan will serve as executive producer on the pilot episode, while Saeoire will serve as an executive producer member of the cast on following episodes. So far, Beanie Feldstein, Michael Ja Rodriguez, Kat Dennings, Lolly Adefope, and Jameela Jamil have been recognised as contributors to Feminists Don’t Wear Pink. It’s probable that the performers may play characters in a narrative based on their own essays.
