Gaynor & Ray Air Date, Casting members, Plotline, Trailer & Details We Know So Far

Rejoice, Gavin & Stacey fans: Ruth Jones and Rob Brydon’s characters, Nessa and Bryn, will soon be back on our screens. In the BBC One comedy, Gaynor and Ray will play newlyweds in their sixties. Digital Spy said that Jones will portray Gaynor in the 35-minute one-off special, while Brydon would play Ray, whose ex-wife described him as “impossible to live with” as they go on a new journey.

Jones co-wrote Gaynor & Ray with her real-life husband, producer David Peet, in addition to acting in the program. There are 35 minutes of footage of Ray and Gaynor on their honeymoon in the Scottish Highlands, where they encounter a range of personalities and circumstances, according to the BBC’s official summary. These two haven’t even been together for six months, yet they’ve already discovered a lot about each other.

Jones and Peet told the BBC that they were “delighted” to see Gaynor and Ray come to life on television. By watching them, we can learn more about the way men and women deal with everyday life and relationships.” In addition to the release date, the BBC has issued a teaser image, which appears to show all of the performers holding hands.

Fans of Gavin & Stacey will be thrilled to see Nessa and Bryn together again, even if they aren’t portraying the characters we know and love. Jones co-created the program with James Corden, a late-night host, and it aired for three years before a reunion Christmas special was published in December 2019.

When it comes to the proposition, they left it hanging, didn’t they?” Even though there are no formal preparations for another Gavin & Stacey reunion, Brydon said in April. They’ll have to work hard if they want to succeed.” This week, Gaynor & Ray will be shown on the BBC’s One and iPlayer channels.
