Forget Season 6, Grantchester has already been renewed for the 7th season

The air date for the next season of Grantchester has been confirmed by ITV. The sixth season of the 1950s detective series was released on September 3 in the United Kingdom. It will be possible to watch PBS in the United States a month after its launch in the United Kingdom.

Synopsis of Season 6

The series, which debuted in 2014, is set in a Cambridgeshire village where DI Geordie Keating (Robson Green) collaborates with the local clergyman to solve mysteries.

In the upcoming chapter, Reen will reprise his role as Reverend William Davenport, opposite Tom Brittney. After season 4, the Outland actor took over James Norton’s Reverend Sydney Chambers. In addition to Leonard Finch, Al Weaver’s figure, and Tessa Peake-Jones, Mrs Chapman’s religious priest and housekeeper, Kacey Ainsworth will reprise her role as Geordie’s wife Cathy.

The most surprising aspect of the new season is the number of episodes watched. The sixth season of Grantchester will feature eight episodes, two more than the previous year. The series has already been renewed for a seventh season, with Brittney in charge of the event.

“I’m relieved to be back in our comfortable home in Grantchester with my family. I’m also pleased that one episode of this series was directed.” Brittney spoke about his foray in a statement.

The actor continued, “It’s been a lifelong passion of mine, and I can’t wait for the audience to see it (and also for the day when I can actually order Robson around!).”

Robson, on the other hand, was delighted to be back in his “happy spot.”

“It’s wonderful to be back in the world that we all refer to as our happy spot,” the actor expressed his delight. “This new series is the finest yet, and it is a credit to the outstanding creative team that has worked so hard to make this extraordinary, lovable, charming, and amusing tale what it is… it is truly world-class!”
