Everything You Need To Know About Season 2 Of ‘Wheel of Time’

The first eight episodes of Amazon’s adaptation of Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series, The Eye of the World, have sped through the massive first installment, The Eye of the World. Because Rafe Judkins accomplished so much in Season 1, viewers are eager to see what he has in store for Season 2.

For the majority of the first season, Moiraine, an Aes Sedai, and Lan, her Warder, led five young people on an incredible but perilous journey. At least five people have been identified as having the potential to be the Dragon Reborn, the enigmatic figure with the power to save or destroy the world.

The world of The Wheel of Time was expanded and new characters were introduced throughout Season 1.

This, however, was only the beginning. Amazon’s fantasy epic has a lot more to offer. Everything you need to know about the second season of The Wheel of Time.

Is The Second Season’s Plot Confirmed?

Fortunately, Amazon Studios has announced that The Wheel of Time’s second season will premiere in November 2021. In the same month, the studio announced that half of the series’ filming would be completed by the end of November 2021. The Wheel of Time was the “…most-watched series premiere of the year and one of Prime Video’s top five series launches of all time” just a few weeks after its debut.

Who will be cast in Wheel Of Time Season 2?

Season 2 will see the return of almost the entire main cast of The Wheel of Time, including:

  • Moiraine is played by Rosamund Pike in the film.
  • Lan is played by actor Daniel Henney.
  • Rand is played by actor Josha Stradowski.
  • Egwene is played by Madeleine Madden.
  • Perrin is played by Marcus Rutherford.
  • Nynaeve is played by Zo Robins.

Recurring cast members such as Sophie Okonedo, Kate Fleetwood, and Kae Alexander are likely to return for Season 2. Natasha O’Keeffe (Peaky Blinders) and Meera Syal (Peaky Blinders) have joined the cast as newcomers (Broadchurch).

Season 2 of Wheel of Time stands out not because of a new character or a difficult storyline, but because of a character’s recasting. Amazon has announced that the actor who played Mat Cauthon, Barney Harris, will not be returning for the second season. The show’s producers made the announcement before the first episode of the first season aired. The producers and actors of the show have kept the reason for the recasting a secret. Dónal Finn, star of The Witcher, steps in to fill the void left by Harris.

In addition to Finn, the most notable addition is Ceara Coveney, who will play Elayne Trakand, a fan favorite. Despite appearing in the first book, The Eye of the World, she did not appear in the first season of the show.

Rand was revealed to be the Dragon Reborn in the previous episode. A flashback sequence depicting a pregnant redheaded warrior engaged in combat foreshadowed that his mysterious ancestry would be revealed further as the series progressed. The other Two Rivers Ta’veren will experience a lot of character development (those who have a direct impact on the arc of time). It is up to Egwene and Jennifer to decide whether or not to pursue Aes Sedai training at the White Tower.

It will also be interesting to see if they consider Egwene being captured by the Seanchan and imprisoned as a woman who can channel as a possibility. I’m curious to see how delicately they tell her story if the show decides to use it, because it’s a big part of the plot in the books.

Amazon has yet to release an official trailer for The Wheel of Time: Season 2. As soon as a new trailer is released, this article will be updated.
