Fantastic Beasts 3: Release Date, Cast, Trailers, And Everything We Know So Far

On December 13th, Warner Bros. unveiled the long-awaited trailer for the third installment of the Star Wars trilogy. We’re at a loss for what else to give Harry Potter aficionados as a pre-Christmas gift. The Fantastic Beasts books were a welcome return to the wizarding realm for many Harry Potter enthusiasts. There’s no disputing that the film is full of magical clichés, such as adorable creatures (nifflers, duh), and huge stakes (the end of humanity?).

Plus, there’s a great band of heroes to root for—except this time, they’re grownups rather than school kids. Unlike the Harry Potter films, there are no Fantastic Beasts books to set the scene, therefore each film is completely new and unknown.

The first trailer, which was released on December 13th and can be viewed here, has already been discussed.

Dumbledore warns Newt in the video, “The world as we know it is disintegrating,” Grindelwald adds, “and Grindelwald is tearing it apart with hatred.”

“You’ll have to put your trust in me if we’re going to beat him.”

Johnny Depp has opted to step down from his role as Grindewald due to pressure from Warner Bros. We don’t know whether or not Depp’s Grindelwald sequence from the third film will be included.

Mads Mikkelsen, who previously starred in Doctor Strange and Hannibal, will play Grindelwald. While it is unknown how the recasting will be handled in the film, in the Harry Potter universe, it may be attributed to a potion, an accident, or a magical disguise.

Mikkelsen stated that he accepted the part without consulting with Depp because his daughter is a Harry Potter fan. Mikkelsen, on the other hand, isn’t going to perform a Johnny Depp impersonation.

When will Fantastic Beasts 3 be released?

Instead of boring you with the specifics, Fantastic Beasts 3 will be published on April 8, 2022 in the United Kingdom and April 15, 2022, in the United States.

Due to the pandemic, the film’s original November 12, 2021 release date has been moved back by a year. Following Depp’s resignation, the date was pushed out until July 2022.

“I know David Yates has finished filming, and I’m itching to get started,” composer James Newton Howard commented after another production delay in early February 2021.

This could be the final shift now that Warner Bros. has announced an earlier release date of April 2022, as it seems doubtful that they would make it unless they were sure in their capacity to do so.
