Beyonce Knowles Carter, an American pop star, has released her first single ‘Break My Soul’. This surprise single is the highlight of her forthcoming album, ‘Renaissance. Listening to this track, many are assuming that the lyrics are said to tap into workers’ anger and working conditions of various businesses post-pandemic that says:

‘I’m gonna find new drive/damn, they work me so damn hard / Work by nine, then off past five /And they work my nerves, that’s why I cannot sleep at night,” sings the artist, adding “I just quit my job.”

Considering the same, Patu Patel, editor-in-chief of music magazine Pitchfork wrote on the social media platform, Twitter that “Beyonce saw that it was the summer of late-millennial burnout, the labor movement ’90s revival, and queer pride and was like, ‘Yeah, I can make a Yeah, I can make a song about that,” But, in response to such statements,  Beyonce has not commented on the meaning of the lyrics. Moreover, Jay-Z’s husband Sean Carter co-wrote the song. It features Robin S’s 1990s dance song “Show Me Love” and Big Freedia’s gay American song, “Explode’. Jay-Z’s streaming site Tidal released the song. It was released at midnight EST (GMT 5) on June 21st via major music streaming services. The lyrics were also available on YouTube.
