DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: RELEASE DATE, CAST, AND MORE

“Diary of a Wimpy Kid” books have amused us a lot. And more fun was added when two live-action films based on the book series came out.

Even though both the movies did well, some fans of the book series complained that the movies did not do justice to the awesome cartoon-style narrative of the books. If you were among those fans then we have some good news for you.

What is it? Find that and more ahead.

DIARY OF A WIMPY KID

Coming straight to the point, the good news is that 20th Century Fox in collaboration with Walt Disney Studios is bringing a full CGI animated “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” movie to the streaming service of Disney, Disney+ Hotstar.

Also, the movie has been directed by Swinton O. Scott III and the creator and writer of the book series as well as the movie, Jeff Kinney, is producing the movie.

The trailer for the movie came out on YouTube on 19th October 2021 on the official YouTube channel of Walt Disney Studios.

Check out the trailer here,

The movie will be available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 1st December 2021.

CAST AND PLOT

The movie will feature Brady Noon as Greg Heffley and Ethan William Childress as Rowley.

Furthermore, the details for the rest of the cast have not been made available yet.

The movie is believed to follow the plot of the 2010 live-action movie “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”.

This means that we will see Greg once again making efforts to become popular in middle school.

He eventually understands that being oneself is the most important thing.

Moreover, the CGI animation will truly bring to life the book of Jeff.

And on a closing note, you should know that a second CGI animation “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” movie is right now under production. Any guesses as to which one is it?
