Dev Patel’s new movie gets UK release date

Untitled Dev Patel film is set for release in the United Kingdom. The film, directed by David Lowery, will be released on September 24 in the United Kingdom. Additionally, Amazon Prime Video will be able to access this epic narrative starring the Skins actor. It is set in Arthurian times and follows Sir Gawain, played by Patel. Film adaptation of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, a poem by Sir Walter Scott.

Sir Gawain, King Arthur’s brash nephew, embarks on an expedition to encounter the Knight, a giant tree-like creature. For the sake of glory, Gawain decapitates the knight, knowing that in a year, he will have to return to his Green Chapel and suffer the same fate.

Early this summer, Patel’s admirers in the United Kingdom were left unhappy when The Green Knight was abruptly cancelled from its intended cinema release date. The film’s UK premiere was initially scheduled for August 6 after its July 30 premiere in the United States.

Unfortunately, The Green Knight did not make it to theatres due of concerns over the rise in Covid-19 cases in the United Kingdom. Until now, much to the delight of director, writer, producer, and editor David Lowery.

Critics praised Patel’s “magnetic” performance, as well as the performances of the star-studded ensemble, and termed the film a “fantastical journey” and “an alluring nightmare” when it debuted earlier this year.

The Green Knight also stars Tomb Raider’s Alicia Vikander, Sarita Choudhury, Joel Edgerton, Barry Keoghan, Sean Harris, and Ralph Ineson in the titular role, as well as Sarita Choudhury, Joel Edgerton, Barry Keoghan, Sean Harris, and Ralph Ineson. On September 24, The Green Knight will be released in UK theatres and on Amazon Prime Video.
