One of the Black Panther star Daniel Kaluuya is planning to make a live-action version of Barney the Dinosaur. Barney and friends a television series made for the age group of 2-7 years. The main character Barney is a Purple Tyrannosaurus Rex who dances in some small steps and sings to provide an educational message to the kids.
The show was first published in the year 1992 and last aired in the year 2009. The show was rerun again for a couple of years till 2015. According to the reports about the making of second Barney, films started around 2017 but the work didn’t progress. Again in 2019, Mattel Films announced that they will be working on the second movie with the British Actor Daniel Kaluuya’s production company.
But according to the details of the movie the second version of Barney movie will be a little bit “Heart-breaking”. The actor Daniel Kaluuya’s explains about his memories of the Barney movie. He always remembers the song, “I love you, you love me”. He feels that it is heart-breaking when we realized it is not true in real life.
According to him, once a child reached adulthood, he or she was not prepared for the real truth when they were a child. They will start to feel everything is just a fairy-tale and nothing is true. He feels that children should be prepared before they get to adulthood.
Daniel feels that filming the movie in the modern version will help the audience. He feels that the old Barney was misunderstood by many people. So they want to justify his existence in a new form.
There is no further news on whether the scripting and cast are ready for the movie. When the shooting will start there is no such idea. But they have started working on it. As soon as we get any further information we will keep you updated.
