Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors often exposes society’s many shortcomings when it comes to domestic abuse and women’s inability to discuss it openly without being chastised. The courtroom drama explores the unspoken issues surrounding the oversimplification of women as victims and offenders, especially when the man involved is from a wealthy family. Season 2 stars Kirti Kulhari (Four More Shots Please), Pankaj Tripathi (Mirzapur 2), and Jisshu Sengupta, and is directed by Rohan Sippy and Arjun Mukherjee. It tells the story of a woman (Kirti Kulhari) who is trapped in a vicious cycle of domestic abuse versus the war against the law and society after stabbing her husband in bed one night. The theme in both seasons is “innocent until proven guilty.” In the middle of it all, there is a lawyer (Pankaj Tripathi) who will go to any extent to reveal the facts.
