Cinderella – Details on Release Date, Casting Members, Trailer, and Storyline

A host of artists will also be on hand to help bring this colourful and flamboyant musical to life, including pop diva Camila Cabello in her first acting role and James Corden giving his voice to yet another musical.

This features a slew of British talent, such as former James Bond Pierce Brosnan as a dashing king and unexpected parts for comedians James Acaster and Romesh Ranganathan. Prepare yourself for a fairy tale unlike any other – here’s all you need to know about Cinderella.

There have been several versions of the famous fairytale Cinderella, including two by Disney alone, but Amazon now offers a distinctly contemporary take on the traditional story. Cinderella does not want to be trapped in her stepmother’s basement or to live a royal life in this streaming-era version, which includes a genderless fairy godmother and a protagonist who aspires to be an entrepreneur.

Cinderella – What we know about the release date?

Cinderella will attend the ball on Friday, September 3, 2021. Cinderella, based on James Corden’s concept, began production in February 2020. However, like with many other film projects at the time, filming was halted in March owing to the epidemic, with work restarting in August 2020 and concluding in September.

Cinderella was initially scheduled for a July 2021 theatrical release, however it is one of several films that have subsequently been shifted to streaming due to continued box office uncertainty. Sony Pictures sold the rights to Amazon in May 2021, following the streaming service’s previous purchases of Coming 2 America and The Tomorrow War.

Cinderella – Details on casting members

Cinderella will feature a star-studded cast, as befits the classic fable. Camila Cabello, a pop sensation, will make her acting debut as the main character, wearing the famed glass shoes. Cabello rose to popularity as a part of the girl band Fifth Harmony on The X Factor USA, but she has since gone on to have a successful solo career.

Cabello also contributed to the soundtrack, which contains versions of contemporary pop songs. Cabello’s Prince Charming – whom she may or may not marry if she is forced to give up her profession – will be Handsome Devil actor Nicholas Galitzine, who will assume the role of Prince Robert.

“Let It Go” will once again be sung by Idina Menzel, who played Elsa in Frozen. Maddie Baillio from Dumplin and Charlotte Spencer from Sanditon will reprise their roles as Cinderella’s wicked stepsisters. Following Mamma Mia, it appears that Pierce Brosnan will try his hand at singing once more as the fabulously stylish Prince Rowan, with Good Will Hunting actress Minnie Driver as his wife Queen Beatrice.

Billy Porter of Pose, on the other hand, will portray Cinderella’s non-binary fairy godmother, nicknamed Fab G. As a footman-turned-mouse, James Corden will add another musical to his CV – and will also produce the picture – while comedians James Acaster and Romesh Ranganathan will make their feature film debuts as Corden’s other mouse chums.

Cinderella – What we know about the storyline

Cinderella is a famous fairytale, but because the film is a modern version of the narrative, it will also follow her as she strives to fulfil her own ambitions of becoming a seamstress. The heroine is eager to forge her own path and start a shop called “Dresses by Ella,” but after meeting Prince Robert at the ball, she must decide whether to follow her love or her aspirations.

Is there any Trailer for Cinderella?

Yes, Amazon Prime Video has produced a trailer for the film, which has already received more than 10 million views on YouTube. The trailer, like all good trailers, provides fans a taste of what’s to come in the reworked version of the narrative without giving too much away. Cinderella will be available on Amazon Prime Video on September 3, 2021.
