You all are going to agree with me watching movie is like bringing alive emotions in our heart. And jotting down these emotions on paper and giving it to our loved ones is another level of joy!
In the world full of virtuality, social media is one way to bring people closer to each other.
But there is one more medium to get connected. Want to know what?
Yes, letters hold some different world of powers that can make any relationship stronger and happier. From communicating through chits with your loved ones to paper scribbling on last day of your school, these letters are kept in locker of memory forever!
There are some Bollywood movies which beautifully portrayed letter as medium to express your feelings and feel the warmth of handwritten letters.
Let’s jot down the journey of letters with us:
- Bareilly Ki Barfi
For all romantic souls out there, the storyline is surely embracing your heart with its simplicity and off course letter angle.
Bitti (Kriti Sanon), is independent and rebellious soul, living life on edge. She starts writing letter to anonymous author of a book. After a multiple series of events, she finally found the author and love of her life, Chirag (Ayushmann Khurana).
Here letter played cupid between Bitti and Chirag.
- The Lunchbox
Communication improves our perspective to see on the other side of river. But have you communicated with a stranger through letter in the lunchbox? Yes, this is little weird.
Ila (Nimrat Kaur), simple housewife, running tiffin service to different places. Her tiffin is once received by Saajan (Irrfan Khan), an office worker and soon they started to exchange their personal words and emotions with each other through that letter.
After that, they discovered themselves which gave them new sense of self and overcome their loneliness.
Here is a short clip in the narrative of Irrfan Khan from “The Lunchbox” to give him tribute- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmEMKj8vbOI
RIP Irrfan Khan
- Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
Almost all of us has watched this movie and got emotional when little Anjali (Sana Sayyed) cried.
Letter jotted down by her mother Tina (Rani Mukherji), took vow from her loving daughter to reunite her father, Rahul and his college best friend Anjali.
The movie teaches how to keep promises and adore the relationship.
- Hum Apke Hain Kaun
Tuffy, cute pet of Nisha (Madhuri Dixit), reunited her with the love of her life Prem (Salman Khan), by giving her handwritten letter to “bade bhaiya” (Mohnish Bahl) by mistake. Realising that both Nisha and Prem has sacrificed their love for their family.
Finally, Bade Bhaiya cancelled his wedding with Nisha, uniting her with Prem, her love.
- Mujhse Dosti Karoge
When Raj (Hrithik Roshan) moves to England, her friend Pooja (Rani Mukherji) writes her letter by the name of Tina (Kareena Kapoor), hoping that he would revert to her.
Meanwhile, they become close to each other during communication through e-mail. And after some series of events, Raj realises that it was Pooja rather than Teena and lovers reunited.
- Maine Pyar Kiya
Heard song “Kabootar Ja Ja Ja”? hummed by Suman (Bhagyashree) while writing letter for her loved one Prem (Salman Khan) resulting in Prem writing letter for Suman too.
Exchange of letter kept their love alive when they were away from each other.
