Apple is developing a transparent and six-sided glass-encased iPhone X and Apple Watch.

Transparent smartphones have been around for quite some time. While several firms have created dedicated telephones with transparent back panels, Android handsets have proven to be the most successful. Users prefer not to disturb the fragile glass back arrangement on Apple iPhones due to the costly expense of doing so.

Transparent iPhones, on the other hand, could be a reality in the not-too-distant future. Apple has officially submitted a patent for an all-glass iPhone, which could be more than simply a transparent iPhone.

The invention was patented by Apple. According to reports, Apple is considering building a smartphone with glass on all six edges. The patent, which is highly technical, refers to a futuristic smartphone constructed entirely of glass.

As stated in the patent, “a first region along the peripheral side having first thickness and a second area along the peripheral side having second thickness distinct from the first thickness” are “defined by at least a portion of the six-sided glass enclosure’s first main side.”

Apple’s most recent patent application mentions an all-glass smartphone and watch

Apple’s approach to an all-glass smartphone is unknown. It is unknown whether the smartphone will be made entirely of glass or from a succession of joined glass slabs.

Furthermore, it is unknown whether the smartphone design is for the iPhone or a whole new gadget. The smartphone will very definitely feature a larger display surface to interact with.

Smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge debuted earlier this year with a wide, useable edge that curved around the screen.

In addition, the patent describes an all-glass Apple Watch. The patent, however, makes no mention of the device’s functionality or any further mechanisms that may be included.

Remember that companies continue to receive patents for ideas and other technology that may or may not be commercialized. In any case, the notion of an all-glass iPhone and Apple Watch is bound to delight Apple fans throughout the world.
