The legendary pair announced that they are married anymore but sources say that they are not legally divorced yet. It was later revealed that the pair have a bifurcated divorce, meaning they are no longer married, but there are still details being worked out.

Why did Angelina Jolie intervene?

Amidst this chaos, Angelina Jolie decided to file paperwork to have the private judge, John W. Ouderkirk, removed from their case. Many thought this was a move to delay their divorce. Turns out, it was meant to do the opposite. It was revealed that the actress was “concerned that something untoward was happening” and did this to make the process faster.

Jolie’s attorney Samantha Bley DeJean further added, “As is set forth in the filing, all my client is asking for is a fair trial based on facts, with no special favors extended to either side.”

It was revealed that this measure was taken to stop the court from being not so transparent. In an interview Anne C. Kiley said that throughout the trail, most of the details were not explained and Angelina Jolie’s team was kept in the dark. It is believed that the move would stop this injustice.

The history of the divorce:

The pair first announced their split in 2016 and soon after that Angelina Jolie applied for a divorce from Brad Pitt. The actress demanded primary custody of all the six children (John Jolie-Pitt, Viviene Marcheline Jolie-Pitt, Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt, Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt, Knox Leon Jolie-Pitt and Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt).

The pair first started going out in 2004 following the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith in which they co starred. The couple got married in a private ceremony in 2014.

Let’s hope that things go smoothly between the two.
