AI-DRIVEN ENERGY STARTUP OCTOPUS HITS $2B MARK AFTER $200M INVESTMENT FROM TOKYO GAS

Octopus energy has finally become a 2.6 billion dollars company after getting a 200 million dollars of investment from a Japanese company Tokyo Gas. 

New Name for New Success

The success story now will be recogizined in Japan as a new Brand name.

DETAILS TO KNOW

This operation will be using an innovative AI and data-based platform to balance loads around the grid. Its Kraken software is also licensed to Origin Energy, nPower and E.On, Good Energy and Hanwha Corporation, among others, reaching 17 million energy accounts worldwide.

The company has entered into a joint venture will the Tokyo Gas where Octopus Energy will have the 30% of share and rest will be held by the Japanese company.

After the joint venture, the company will launch and start its operations in Japan with its trademark, 100% renewable electricity operation.

Australian company Origin Energy Is also going to invest in Octopus for $50 million.

The company is currently aiming to grab 100 million customers by 2027 as they have recently started working in Australia, Germany & New Zealand.

PRODUCTS LAUNCH

In the U.K., Octopus has also launched Electric Juice, an electric vehicle roaming network, and partnered with Tesla to launch Tesla Power.
