After the end of This Is Us, the star is looking for her next TV role.

The television show This Is Us has a devoted fan base. The final season of Sterling K Brown’s drama is quickly approaching, and the actor has already committed to his next project.

Justin Hartley, Sterling’s Randall Pearson co-star, has joined the upcoming series Washington Black, just a few weeks after signing on for a new job with Hulu (via Deadline).

The adaptation of Esi Edugyan’s novel Washington Black by writer Selwyn Seyfu Hinds follows 11-year-old George Washington ‘Wash’ Black as he flees a Barbados sugar plantation in the nineteenth century after witnessing a shocking death.

Brown will play Medwin Harris, a refugee in Halifax, Nova Scotia, who is fiercely protective of the Black community. He will also serve as the show’s executive producer.

Medwin is taken on a journey of self-discovery after meeting Wash, and as the walls around his heart begin to crumble, Medwin rediscovers his capacity to dream.

Sterling described Washington as an Inspiration

According to sources, Sterling described Washington Black as an inspiration. “This young man and his journey remind me of the transformative power of imagination and creativity in our everyday lives.

There are no words to describe how spectacular Selwyn Seyfu Hinds’ universe is, which brings Esi Edugyan’s transcendent words to fruition.

The sixth season of This Is Us, on the other hand, will air before the premiere of Washington Black. When the show’s final episodes air in 2022, fans can expect a clean break from the series.

According to the show’s creator, Dan Fogelman, there will be no unanswered questions by the end of the next season. “No matter how many people disagree with your character choices, I believe there will be nothing left on the table when all is said and done.

In other words, all of the locations you’ve visited, as well as all of the future timelines we’ve visited, will have a happy ending.
