Sen. David Shafer Now On Romney Side
(1/31/08) Another former Fred Thompson supporter, Sen. David Shafer,
has shifted to the Mitt Romney side.
Writing on his blog,
Shafer said:
"I have decided to vote for Mitt Romney in the Republican
primary next Tuesday and today gave permission for my name to be
released as one of his supporters.
"I have been impressed with Governor Romney from the start.
He is enormously talented, with an extraordinary record of business
success. He is running on a strong conservative platform that I
can wholeheartedly embrace. He is a better choice than John McCain
and an excellent choice in any event.
"It will be a tough next couple weeks, but I am proud to be
with my good friends Dan Moody and Mark Burkhalter, among many others,
on the Romney team."
