Voters Prefer For State Government To Determine Transportation Funding Over Chambers of Commerce

(2/23/07) In the latest InsiderAdvantage / Majority Opinion Survey, 73 percent of voters said they preferred to leave transportation policy issues to those associated with state government - either state lawmakers or the people who work in the Department of Transportation - while 23 percent said they preferred for chambers of commerce to make the calls. Q. When it comes to dealing with transportation planning or determining transportation funding, which organization do you most prefer to deal with such issues:

Legislature: 34%
Department of Transportation: 39%
Local or State Chambers of Commerce: 27%

Survey conducted February 20-21 among 500 registered voters; margin of error plus or minus 4 percent. The sample group was weighted for age, race, gender, and political affiliation.
