Howard Maxwell Will Chair House Committee On Information & Audits

(12/19/07) Rep. Howard Maxwell, R-Dallas, has been named chairman of the House Committee on Information and Audits. The appointment was made by House Speaker Glenn Richardson and was announced on Wednesday.

“I am honored to be asked to take over the responsibilities as chair of this committee,” Maxwell said. “Dan Lakly was a friend of mine and a respected colleague, and I hope to honor his memory by my service in this role.”

Maxwell has been a member of the House since 2003. He previously was chairman of the Paulding County Board of Education for five years. He is vice chairman of the House Insurance and House Retirement committees and is a member of the House Appropriations Committee, the House Banks & Banking Committee and the House Education Committee.
