Shafer Fundraiser Will Feature Perdue
And Cagle
(12/12/07) Gov. Sonny Perdue and Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle will be special
guests for a fundraiser for Sen. David Shafer in Duluth on Dec.
18.
Among the members of the host committee are several leading businessmen
and political figures: David Allman, Rudy Bowen, Michael Bowers,
David Hanna, John A. Isakson, Don Leeburn III, Billy Lovett, Wayne
Mason, Guy Millner, Tom Moreland, Bartow Morgan, Emory Morsberger,
Wayne Shackelford, Richard Tucker and Virgil Williams.
The host committee also includes several members historically associated
with the Democratic Party, including former Secretary of State Lewis
Massey and Atlanta lawyer Keith Mason, who served as top aide to
Gov. Zell Miller.
A note from Cagle on the invitation calls Shafer a “long-time
personal friend and a key member of our Senate leadership tam.”
It goes on to say: “I know you receive numerous opportunities
to support pro-business candidates but I hope this is one you will
strongly consider if you are able.”
The event is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Atlanta Athletic Club
in Duluth.
Shafer is serving his fourth term in the Senate. He chairs the
Senate Regulated Industries and Public Utilities Committee and is
vice chairman of the Insurance and Labor Committees.
